Was Your "Uncle" A Monkey?

We have a lot of information on the fallacies within the “theory of evolution” and other forms of opposition to the Bible. I want every Christian to know – and know why he knows – that the Bible is right on the origin of man and the universe. We need to stand ready to oppose the intimidating efforts of atheism and evolution. Actually, the best evidence against evolution often comes from evolutionists themselves. Make sure you note that this material will be composed primarily of quotes from the pen of several evolutionists, using their own words.

Was Darwin Right? And, Is Evolution A Fact of Science?

Steven Jay Gould says yes:

“Facts are the world’s data; theories are explanations proposed to interpret and coordinate facts. The fact of evolution is as well established as anything in science, though absolute certainty has no place in our lexicon.”

Sounds pretty final, doesn’t it? But hear the words of other renowned evolutionists who strongly disagree:

Sir Arthur Keith:

“Evolution is unproved and unprovable. It is accepted   because the only alternative is creation, and that is unthinkable.”

W. LeGros Clark:

“What was the ultimate origin of man? Unfortunately, any answers which can at present be given to such questions are based on indirect evidence and thus are largely conjectural.”

G. A. Kerkut:

“The evidence that supports evolution is not sufficiently strong to allow us to consider it anything more than a working hypothesis.”

Well, not so “scientific” now, is it? Consider Darwin’s viewpoint on his Origin of Species and the “facts”:

“Concerning Origin of Species, in fact the reasoning is so entirely satisfactory to me that if the facts won’t fit, why so much the worse for the facts.”

What’s that – Darwin doesn’t care if the facts don’t fit his theory? Now evolution has gone from “fact” down past “theory” all the way down to “hypothesis.”

Spontaneous Generation: That strange term is evolution’s way of saying “life came from non-living matter.” However, there is a law of science that says life must come from life. It constitutes one of the greatest obstacles for evolutionists today. They often deny that they believe it, but occasionally the truth slips out anyway. Consider the following from evolutionist George Wald of Harvard University:

“The reasonable view was to believe in spontaneous generation (the only alternative to accepting a single act of supernatural creation). There is no third choice. For this reason, many scientists a century ago chose to regard the belief in spontaneous generation as a philosophical necessity.”

But wait, is that really true science…to accept that which all science agrees does not happen? Wald responds:

“To make an organism demands the right substances, in the right proportion and in the right arrangement. We do not think anything more is needed, but that is problem enough. One only has to contemplate the magnitude of this task to concede that the spontaneous generation of a living organism is impossible. Yet, here we are, the result, I believe, of spontaneous generation.”

I remind you: these quotes are not from a bunch of scripture-quotin’ preachers, but from the most respected men and women of science. Therefore, when they state that the doctrine of “evolution” has weaknesses, flaws, they deserve to be heard, and we must not ignore or forget the devastating results of these statements. Scientists know the truth on this.

How Did EvolutionHappen” In Its “beginning”?

And, when did it happen, and where? For those who ardently believe that Darwin’s dogma is a proven fact, this is a tough one. Maybe…if you try hard enough and think long enough…you may come up with something.

As to the “where” question (where did evolution take place?), you need to hear Sir Frances Crick (a co-discoverer of the DNA module). He says life “was sent here from other planets.” That one has a few believers, but in a book by Wickramasinghe and Hoyle, we find they do not know when, but that evolution could have had its beginning when…“life fell to earth from space after having evolved from the
warm, wet nucleus of a comet.”  It just gets better and better, doesn’t it!

Think about this: If we do not know the where, the when or the how of evolution, why are evolutionists so sure of themselves? Is that merely a form of intellectual snobbery?

Robert Jastrow, founder of the Goddard Institute of Space Studies made this significant observation:

“According to this theory, every tree, every blade of grass, and every creature in the sea and on the land evolved out of one parent strand of molecular matter drifting lazily in a warm pool. What concrete, provable evidence supports that remarkable theory of the origin of life? There is None!”

Science is an exceptionally valuable tool for man, but science is not the friend of Darwin’s hypothesis of evolution. In fact, science is evolution’s worst enemy!

Genesis 1:1

The Influence of Only One

During the War Between the States, a young woman learned the truth and obeyed the gospel. Her sweetheart, J. H. Halbrook, was a Confederate soldier. He was captured by the Union Army and kept a prisoner in Michigan until the war was over. He was given a ticket to Nashville and $2.50, and from there he returned to Centerville and found what was left of his home and family. He was reunited with his girlfriend and they were married.

Mr. Halbrook’s new wife studied the Bible with him, and he soon became a Christian. He thought the truth was so good and so simple that he began to teach and baptize many of his friends and neighbors. Then he began to preach, but he recognized his need for more training, so he enrolled in Mars Hill Bible School and was taught and trained by T. B. Larimore.

Upon completing his studies at Mars Hill, Mr. Halbrook and his wife chose to move farther south rather than going back to Tennessee, and they went into Walker, Marion, Fayette, and Lamar counties in Alabama. Of his many converts were Charley Alexander Wheeler and his wife. Mr. Wheeler, after obeying the gospel, soon began preaching to others. He started more than 100 congregations, and he baptized more than 6,000 people.

But wait – the story does not end here! One of those 6,000 baptisms was my father, the late Gus Nichols, and under my father’s preaching, 12,000 people were baptized into Christ!

And how many of those 12,000 began to preach “the glorious gospel of Christ”? No one can know the exact number, but I personally know several who did. I am one whom he baptized and whom he encouraged to preach the gospel. And under my preaching, about 3,000 have been baptized into Christ. Among that number a few have gone on to preach the gospel.

Only eternity will reveal the total results of the conversion of that one girl during the War Between the States, nearly 150 years ago. But at least 21,000 people have already become Christians through this single thread in the fabric of her influence.“Go, and do thou likewise” (Luke 10:37), for you are important too!

Dear reader, if you go to heaven, others probably will be saved because of you! “For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?” (1 Corinthians 7:16)  “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

Even only one person can be very influential.
