J O H N   W.   M O O R E FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT What will you be doing this coming week? Where will you spend your time, and what will occupy your thoughts? What books will you read, and what movies will you watch? Will you spend your days and nights working? Will you sleep the hours away? Will you pass the time by drinking? In the Bible we are told that time is precious and that we dare not squander it or use it unwisely (Ephesians 5:14-18). Instead of misappropriating our time or filling our lives with wine drinking, the apostle Paul commands us to be filled with the Spirit. He proceeds to tell us that a Spirit filled life involves a coming together of His children for the purpose of singing and making melody to the Lord (Ephesians 5:19). What a wonderful way to spend part of our time. Through singing we can teach and encourage each other. Through song we can express our joy and happiness (James 5:13). Through hymns we can praise our God (Hebrews 13:15). Join with us at the Dripping Springs church of Christ in being filled with the Spirit at our next monthly hour-long singing. Every fourth Wednesday night of the month is dedicated to singing. We begin at 7:30 P.M. and conclude at 8:30 P.M. Everyone is welcome and all ages are encouraged to attend. It is a wonderful way to spend an evening.
