WHO IS JESUS?

What shall we believe about Jesus? Is He God or less than God? Was He merely a prophet, as some allege, or more than a prophet? While few disagree with the historical reality of Jesus, His peculiar nature and substance are nevertheless vigorously debated. Who is Jesus and what should we believe about Him? The ancient and well-attested documents of the New Testament are the key to understanding this mystery.

Particularly in John’s Gospel, the reader is given an intimate look into both the message and meaning of Jesus’ life. It is there that we learn that the message is unequivocally linked to the Messenger. What Jesus taught cannot be separated from the essence of His existence and the nature of His being. He is the truth that He proclaims and the Light that guides the way (John 14:6; 8:12). To understand the essence of the Christian faith is to understand the essence of Jesus, and in understanding Jesus we come to experience for ourselves the reality and presence of God (John 14:6-23). Who is Jesus? He is God. Come join with us in knowing God as we examine the testament of Jesus Christ through a series of sermon presentations from the Gospel according to John.
