OBEYING GOD'S WILL

1. Yes No Does God want us to live righteous and godly lives? Titus 2:12 (NKJV) teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

2. What separates man from God?   Isaiah 59:2 (NKJV) But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.

3. Yes No Is sin transgressing God's law? I John 3:4 (KJV) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Yes No Is sin going beyond the doctrine of Christ? II John 9 (NKJV) Whoever transgresses {goeth onward, ASV; goes too far, NASB} and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. Yes No Is sin failing to do good? James 4:17 (NKJV) Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.     Examples of sin:     Romans 1:28-32 (NKJV) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.     I John 3:4 (NKJV) But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

4. Yes No Have all men sinned? I John 1:8 (NKJV) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Yes No Do you have sins in your past life?

5. Yes No Will God reward or punish every one based on what he/she has done? John 5:28-29 (NKJV) Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice anger of hell fire. and come forth; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. II Corinthians 5:10-11 (NKJV) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.

FORGIVENESS OF SINS

6. Yes No Did Jesus Christ come into the world to save us from our sins? Matthew 1:21 (NKJV) And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins. I John 4:14 (NKJV) And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.

7. Yes No Did His death provide the required blood sacrifice? Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV) In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace of hell fire. Hebrews 9:12 (NKJV) Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. Romans 5:8-9 (NKJV) But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

8. Yes No Is there any other possible source of salvation but Jesus Christ? Acts 4:12 (NKJV) "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

BELIEF / FAITH

9. Yes No Is belief (or faith) essential to your salvation? Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

10. Yes No Does faith come from the word of God? Romans 10:17 (NKJV) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. John 20:30-31 (NKJV) And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

11. Yes No Must you believe in Jesus Christ? I John 3:23 (NKJV) And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. Yes No Does the Bible teach that Jesus is the Son of God? John 20:31 (NKJV) but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

12. Yes No Does the Bible teach that Jesus is God? John 1:1-4, 1:14 (NKJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. I Timothy 3:16 (NKJV) And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

13. Yes No Must you obey Jesus Christ to receive salvation? Hebrews 5:8-9 (NKJV) though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, II Thessalonians 1:7-9 (NKJV) and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, I John 2:3-4 (NKJV) Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

CHANGE IN WILL AND ACTIONS

14. Yes No Has God commanded all men to repent? Acts 17:30 (NKJV) Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,

15. Yes No Does repentence result from godly sorrow? II Corinthians 7:10 (NKJV) For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

16. Yes No Should repentence produce a change in actions? Acts 26:20 (NKJV) but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.

17. Yes No Is repentence the change of mind that comes after godly sorrow and causes a change in actions?

18. How does a person show that he/she has truly repented of past wrong actions?

19. Yes No Is repentence essential to your salvation? II Peter 3:9 (NKJV) The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Luke 13:3 (NKJV) I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.

20. Yes No Are there sins that you need to recognize, repent of, and remove from your life?

CONFESSING CHRIST

21. Yes No Does Jesus say that men must confess Him? Matthew 10:32-33 (NKJV) Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

22. EXAMPLES:   Matthew 16:16 - Peter's Confession Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Acts 8:37 - The Ethiopian's Confession Then Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."

23. Yes No Is confessing Jesus necessary for your salvation? Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

24. Yes No Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God?
