J O H N   W.   M O O R E THE FAITHFUL CHRISTIAN MAN (A Study in Church Leadership) I. Introduction A. The roles of men and women are changing in society 1. This has adversely affected the world. 2. This has adversely affected the church. B. In the church, men and women have many of the      same obligations. For example: 1. faithful attendance (Heb. 10:24f) 2. faithful devotion (Luke 9:23; Rev. 2:10) 3. pure speech (Col. 4:6; Eph. 4:29) 4. pure lives (I Thess. 2:12; 4:1-8; I Pet. 1:13-16 5. true worship (John 4:24f) C. However, the faithful Christian man must be actively      involved in the church which will necessitate his being a leader. 1. I Corinthians 11:3 2. I Corinthians 14:34 3. I Timothy 2 and 3 4. I Timothy 4:12-16 5. Titus 2:2 II. Body A. The Divine Pattern of Church Leadership 1. In organization - I Tim. 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-9; Eph. 4:11-16 2. In worship - I Tim. 2:8; I Cor. 14:34 3. In leadership - I Tim. 2:11-15; I Pet. 3:1-6; I Cor. 11:3 4. In example - I Tim. 4:12-16 B. The Development of Church Leadership 1. In the home a. dictates (Eph. 5:22-33; 6:1-4) b. an example - Timothy was groomed to become     a leader (II Tim. 1:3-5,15). 2. In the church a. demanded - Titus 2; II Tim. 2:2 b. demonstrated (1) Jesus trained and developed leaders (2) Paul trained and developed Titus      and Timothy (II Tim. 2:1). C. The Duplication of Church Leadership (Examples to Follow) 1. Paul - Read Acts, I & II Timothy, and Titus 2. James - Acts 15 3. Barnabas - Acts 13-15 4. Peter - Acts 2-5 5. We need men to      take up their responsibilities of leading in the following areas: 1. Worship - Men like David (O.T.) 2. Evangelism 3. Edification 4. Benevolence III. Conclusion A.
